Pathfinders at the camporee obtained these honors by completing a one and a half hour curriculum course focusing on attributes of a being a Christian peacemaker or learning the principles of how to identify and establish a safe campsite. During the four-day camporee more than 700 Pathfinders successfully completed these honors.

With 35,000 people, crowd control was an important factor. During the worship programs ARM staff policed aisles and overflow areas. “This event is the size of some towns. When you get all these people together you have to find ways for them to easily maneuver and we tried not to have too many bottle-necked areas, says Dougan. “I think overall, by doing the safety checks and assisting camp security personnel, we were able to minimize a lot of unnecessary accidents and problems that could have occurred.”

“The camporee was a major test of our online capabilities,” says Byron Scheuneman, ARM vice president. “This new online technology has greatly enhanced ARM’s ability to serve large group activities more efficiently than previous years.
