Byron L. Scheuneman, vice president, is a veteran leader with more than 37 years of financial administration experience in both the US and foreign service. Most recently Scheuneman held the combined posts of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the Adventist Development & Relief Agency (ADRA) world headquarters. Prior to his more than 12 years at ADRA, he served for ten years in the Asia-Pacific region of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was Assistant Treasurer, and Director of Asset Management & Development Services at the division office in Singapore, as well as Treasurer of the South China Island Union in Hong Kong. Scheuneman began his denominational service as an Accountant at the Loma Linda Food Company in Ohio. His other North American assignments include Assistant Manager of the Ohio Adventist Book Center, Treasurer of the Voice of Prophecy, Controller of the Adventist Media Center, and Director of Student Financial Services at Pacific Union College.
In addition to Bachelor and Master degrees in Accounting and International Finance, Scheuneman has secured specialized training at Indiana University, Case Western Reserve University, and MIT.
A native of Michigan, Scheuneman is married to Sharon L. Snyder, who is the Quality Assurance & Training Specialist for the North American Division Retirement Plan. The couple has one son, Trevor Byron Scheuneman, who is an international award wining classical singer with regular performances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Washington National Opera in Washington D.C., and other major venues in the United States and Europe.
