This year, Safety Sabbath® focuses on Preparedness That Fits Your Church. Rather than concentrating on a single emergency scenario, churches are encouraged to take a step back and consider how they identify risks, prioritize what matters most, and prepare their people with confidence and care. A well-chosen drill is most effective when it grows out of a thoughtful approach to readiness.

Register your church today to take part in Safety Sabbath® on March 28, 2026 — the fourth Sabbath of March — and take the first step toward building preparedness that reflects your church’s ministry, people, and context.

When you register for Safety Sabbath®, you’ll find resources designed to help you recognize risks, prioritize them, and plan an appropriate drill that fits your church. Additional guidance, including Safety Officer campaign articles, will support your preparation and next steps.

Church-Centered Preparedness

This Safety Sabbath topic is designed to help churches focus on how they recognize risks, prioritize what matters most, and prepare their congregation in ways that fit their unique ministry context. By learning how to evaluate potential emergencies and intentionally choose a drill that aligns with your highest-priority risks, your church can strengthen readiness, support volunteers, and build confidence that extends well beyond one Sabbath.
