This time of year, many people start looking at how the upcoming year will be different. Perhaps they will pursue something they always wanted, achieve a goal that has long been out of reach, lose a few pounds, or learn to play pickleball. Resolutions, many call it. At its core, all this means is change. Scary to some, welcome to others, but at the end of the day, change is good.
Change can bring newness in perspective and response. It represents a chance to push ourselves, to stretch, to consider something unfamiliar and learn to find its value. Change can bring the answers we were seeking, fresh voices and eyes to the products and resources we wish to share, and a fresh approach to something we once thought was fine the way it was.I say all this to introduce you to a new way we will be approaching Solutions. First, instead of receiving the newsletter biweekly, you will now find it in your inbox monthly. Second, you’ll notice a brand-new look featuring a more user-friendly design, including much more than you might expect.
I could tell you everything the new version of Solutions will include and go into detail about every new element of design you’ll find, but we want you to be surprised. After all, surprises—of the nice variety—are usually well received.
We also want to hear from you. What topics related to risk management—e.g., school safety, cybersecurity, property protection, child protection, etc.—do you want to hear more about? What questions do you have? This is your opportunity to be part of the discussion.
We create Solutions and all our Adventist Risk Management, Inc., resources for you—clients and frontline risk managers. So help us make this publication something of great value to you. To that end, submit your questions, suggestions, and critique to solutions@adventistrisk.org.
As we look forward to 2024, we do so with hope, new ideas, and a renewed commitment to bringing relevant and helpful content to our readers. Finally, we wish you and yours a wonderful and peaceful holiday season!
